LAB540 is something so special as a sound plate with a separate wireless subwoofer and built-in Blu-ray player. LG also features wireless and wired networking with streaming from a connected computer or hard drive. If you have a TV from LG, you can use bluetooth with optimum image/sound synchronization.

SUMMARY
LG LAB540W has a built-in Blu-ray player and wireless subwoofer making it a complete package.
Simulated surround sound is impressive with movies and the external wireless subwoofer adds rich bass.
Plus points for the built-in Blu-ray player and network capabilities.
The subwoofer lacks a little control.
Dialogues are not as distinct and resolved as the very best.
The Graphical Interface on the TV screen makes installation very easy and the LAB540 gives a complete overview of everything you are doing. The remote is also clean with well laid out buttons.
The wireless subwoofer delivers deeper bass than the other sound bars we´ve tested recently. Movie audio is played much louder than from the cheaper LAP340 model. Movies are reproduced with much better grip on the sound effects, while the audio mode "Cinema" simulates surround and the rear channels sound like they come from behind.
LG LAB540 is not as detailed and resolved as Canton DM 50, and the dialogue is a bit thinner and lighter. Nor is there as much violent pressure in the upper part of the bass, the subwoofer concentrates more on the deeper frequencies. Still, the movie experience is more engaging. Canton has an opportunity to sound even fatter than the LG if it is connected to an external subwoofer, but this also means it comes with an additional cost.
Music in stereo sound, despite the subwoofer, more gently than with Canton and Klipsch. The subwoofer will certainly bring more of the sound images foundations and weight, but is not the strictest and most resolved purely tonally. In other words, music works fine and movies works best.
